ABOUT THE TOMTIT PRINT
I think Tomtits would have to be one of most adorable native birds, with their fat little chests and striking colouring. This painting is of the South Island male which is distinguished from that of the North Island species by the beautiful yellow colouring on the breast. The flowers are tiny native buttercups (Ranunculus Multiscapus) which are found in the higher altitude and tussock-land areas of New Zealand.
