Original Painting - Pohutukawa Flowers & Bee

An original artwork of NZ pohutukawa flowers & honey bee.  Painted with professional artist's acrylic on 300gsm gessoed watercolour paper (16x21cm).

The painting comes mounted with a white mat border, for easy framing, ready to fit a standard 8x10 inch frame (approx 20x25cm).  (Third photo shows example framing.)

All materials used are acid free and archival quality.

ABOUT THE PAINTING
Also known as New Zealand's Christmas tree, the pohutukawa is an iconic part of the NZ landscape, with it's gnarled trunk and vibrant red blooms.  For me, the flowers always evoke memories of summer holidays on the beach, with the ever present pohutukawa tree, it's lovely low hanging branches and welcome shade to sit in.  In this piece of art, I hope to capture some of that atmosphere of happy days in the sun, warm sea breezes, and watching the bees buzzing in the flowers.
